Amazon’s ALEXA just got a new friend!

As the race for the ultimate AI (Artificial Intelligence) assistant is getting intense with passing days. Here is something that can be seen as a next step in bringing the best to you. Amazon’s very own Alexa will team up with its new friend Cortana from Microsoft to enhance the user experience. The tech giants performed the first such integration between the two intelligent assistants at the "Build 2018" developers' conference at Seattle on Monday.

Megan Saunders, Microsoft Cortana General Manager and Tom Taylor, Amazon Alexa Senior Vice President, were the ones to demonstrate how Alexa and Cortana could work together very soon. "For all of you developers out there building skills, Cortana and Alexa will enable access to more people across more devices. And we can't wait to see what you build," said Saunders.

Very soon ‘Alexa, Open Cortana’ could be used to trigger the integrated Cortana to assist you with more things, for e.g. Opening an email or browsing through your official assignments. Alexa would be there to take care of your other personal daily chores. While nothing firm is yet received from Amazon as to when this feature will be rolled out to its general users, we could expect it anytime soon.
